Connecting Facility Europe (CEF) Transport Campaign, a coalition of EU associations including UITP, endorses a new declaration, called the “Ljubljana Declaration”, requesting more EU budget for transport. This declaration has been endorsed in marge of the TEN-T Days, organised by the European Commission from 25 to 27 April 2018 in Ljubljana. The objective of the TEN-T Days is to discuss how to contribute to smart, sustainable and safe Mobility, relying on the trans-European transport network and investments in transport connectivity.
The declaration emphasises the importance of investing in environmentally sustainable mobility and infrastructure. The ambitious decarbonisation and Paris agreement targets can only be met if all transport modes implement sustainable projects and continue investing in green innovative solutions, enabling a progression toward low-carbon and low-energy transport systems.
As a reminder, the CEF Transport Campaign is composed by almost 45 European associations representing transport, infrastructure managers, operators, contractors, local and regional authorities, logistics service providers, shippers, users and equipment suppliers in the maritime, inland waterways, railways, road, cycling, aviation and intermodal sectors, as well as supporting industries and companies. They team up to call for more investment in clean and modern transport.
